Glenn Dowell is a new assistant professor of management and organizations whose research deals with industry evolution and firms' environmental and financial performance. His teaching interests involve environmental strategy and sustainability, corporate strategy, and management of not-for-profit organizations. His work has examined a variety of economic sectors, including bicycle manufacturing, high-definition television, and telecommunications. Recent publications include investigations into factors that affect the ability of firms to adapt to technological and social change, and survival prospects for firms as industries undergo radical transformations. Dowell is currently focused on environmental factors that affect firms' environmental strategies and resulting performance. His work has been published in Management Science, Organization Studies, Advances in Strategic Management, and Strategic Management Journal. He is on the editorial review board of Organization Science. He earned his PhD from the University of Michigan.
