Letter to the Editor
To the Editor – I enjoyed the most recent edition of Cornell Enterprise that arrived at my home. I was particularly pleased to see the story about Nancy Schlichting [MBA '79], one of the few stories I can remember over the years that highlighted JGSM graduates in the healthcare field. For about 20 years the Sloan Program in Hospital & HealthCare Administration was an integral part of JGSM. It was nice to see the Sloan Program name in the header on page 41. However, there was no explanation of why it was there, or what the Sloan Program is. Current students and more recent alumni probably have no idea that the Sloan Program (housed for the past 20 years or so in the College of Human Ecology) once was a major part of JGSM. Perhaps a future issue of Enterprise could focus on healthcare, a field that many experts consider to be among the most challenging of all management tasks.
