Noted in BusinessWeek: Admissions, recruiting, and a blog
The Johnson School has been featured multiple times in BusinessWeek this year in articles covering recruiting, admissions, our AMBA program, and in a student-written blog. Randall Sawyer, director of admissions, was quoted about the rise of our Accelerated MBA program in "Accelerated MBAs Are Gaining Ground" (5/8/08). While applications for all Johnson School programs are on the rise, the school saw a 50 percent increase in applications for its 2008-09 Accelerated MBA program. Sawyer was also featured in an Admissions Q&A (7/29/08) and quoted in "Clearing Up an Application Blemish" (10/12/08), urging prospective students to be honest and upfront in the application process. Karin Ash, director of the Career Management Center, was quoted in "Fall Recruiting Moves Into Summer" (6/8/08), which features the career panels the Johnson School hosted over the summer to provide the incoming class of 2010 with early career insight and advice. Businessweek.com MBA blogger Bailey Stoler, MBA '09, writes in "Favoring Finance" (7/13/08), "There exists a misconception — in business and in some groups at Cornell — that finance and sustainability are polarizing topics." Finally, the Johnson School came in 11th in "The Best U.S. B-Schools of 2008" (11/24/08), and ninth in BusinessWeek's internal audit of MBA admissions Web sites (10/3/08), which noted that "Johnson's home page is orderly and clear."
