Director’s Message

November 2011

Tara Lynn

Looking forward to January events: Predictions dinners and the 2012 Alumni Awards gala

Dear alumni, friends, and corporate partners,

With the holidays right around the corner we are excitedly preparing for the most popular Johnson events that take place in January – the Predictions Dinners and the Alumni Recognition Awards Dinner. Originally created by the Johnson Club of the Bay Area 16 years ago, annual Predictions Dinners have become a tradition among Johnson Alumni Clubs in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Finger Lakes, Washington, D.C., and the United Kingdom. The event begins with a cocktail reception that serves as a great opportunity for fellow alumni to network with students, faculty, and staff, followed by a formal sit-down dinner and an address by a keynote speaker. At these dinners, we also distribute prediction questions for the upcoming year, and announce the winner of the most accurate predictions from the previous year. It is a fun evening open to the entire Cornell community. Please join us if you can! You’ll find links to register for the event nearest you on our Alumni Events page.

On Jan. 19, 2012, we will host the Fifth Annual Alumni Recognition Awards dinner at Guastavino’s in New York City. Hundreds of Johnson alumni, faculty, students, staff, and friends will gather to celebrate and honor our most accomplished, involved alumni of 2011. The recipients of the Wilbur Parker Distinguished Alumni Award, Angela Noble-Grange, MBA ’94, and the Distinguished Latino Alumni Award, Carlos Quintanilla, MBA ’80, were honored at the Second Annual Diversity Symposium, held here at Sage Hall on Oct. 29, 2011. Dean Joe Thomas will also be recognizing both of these diversity award recipients at the awards dinner in January, and we hope that many of you will join us in celebrating all of the award recipients and their tremendous commitment to the school.

Sincerely,

Tara T. Lynn
