Megan Weber, MBA '06 Megan Weber, MBA '06, has applied and was selected for an MBA Enterprise Corps (MBAEC) assignment in Bulgaria. Weber is one of two Corps participants to be assigned to Bulgaria and is supporting three mediation centers (two in Sofia and one in Stara Zagora) that were established through a USAID funded program. Now that USAID is no longer funding the centers, she is helping them write business plans (which include marketing and operating components), identify potential grant funding sources, and develop their marketing campaigns both internally (center-specific) and externally (national marketing effort for mediation).

Weber is very interested in consulting and feels many of the biggest issues facing not only the United States, but also the global community, fall at the intersection of the public and private sectors. She also believes that the private sector, governments, and non-profits must work together to solve these issues. She credits her Johnson School experience with her confidence and success in several areas such as turning ideas into actionable plans, project management, communication, group facilitation, working within diverse teams, flexibly and problem solving. Megan came to the Johnson School from the private sector but upon graduation, definitely wanted to gain a better understanding of public sector issues in the global environment. She believes the MBAEC will provide a great opportunity to do this.

MBA Enterprise Corps (MBAEC) deploys recently graduated MBA's from the top business schools in the United States. The MBA's have at least three to five years of business experience, and are willing to volunteer 15 months of their time and expertise to support development efforts. The standard assignment consists of three months of language training and acculturation followed by 12 months of work with the host organization. MBAEC has a solid track record of providing technical assistance in a variety of business disciplines. Since the Corps' inception in 1990, over 760 Corps members have assisted in all aspects of management and technology transfer to well over 1,000 enterprises, business support organizations, and associations.

Dr. Pankaj Gupta, EMBA '04 Dr. Pankaj Gupta, EMBA '04, had seemingly divergent career paths: one in business management with Citibank, N.A, and the other in medicine. What he was actually doing was charting out a career track which would lead to a career as a physician executive in the health-care industry. Armed with an EMBA from the Johnson School, Dr. Gupta was able to launch from practicing medicine into an impressive Medical Director management role with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ. BCBS is New Jersey's largest health-care insurer, with more than three million members. Dr. Gupta has a BS in economics from Colgate University ('88), MD from St. George's University ('96), Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, completed his specialty training at Harvard Medical School, and acquired his EMBA from the Johnson School in '04.
