MBA Careers Take Center Stage at Orientation
Friday brings more than 30 Johnson alums for panels and one-on-one coaching

Johnson’ s MBA Class of 2015 will spend Friday, August 9, focusing on their future careers in business, with the help of more than 30 Johnson alums. The day—coordinated by the Career Management Center—is designed to jumpstart summer internship and career planning for the 284 members of the incoming class, with panel discussions from managers in multiple industries and companies, followed by one-on-one coaching by MBA graduates.
The “Just About Careers” day begins with expert panel discussions on careers in fields such as investment banking, managerial finance, capital markets and asset management, marketing, and consulting. Additional panels cover careers in sustainable global enterprise and starting one’s own company.
After lunch, students are invited to meet with a cadre of alumni for individual career information and coaching. Alumni represent companies in consumer packaged goods, investment management, consulting, and high technology. These include Unilever, Johnson & Johnson, General Electric, Procter and Gamble, JP Morgan, Deloitte, and entrepreneurial firms such as Brew Jacket and RosieApp, among others.
The day closes with a unique high-tech panel discussion—panelists from Facebook, Intel, eBay, LinkedIn, and Google will teleconference into Sage Hall from remote locations in San Jose and San Bruno, California, and New York City. The remote sites are those of the Cornell-Queen’s Executive MBA Program, from which students in the innovative MBA program for executives engage with fellow students across the Americas, via interactive videoconferencing technology.
