Johnson Welcomes New Faculty
Jonah Berger, visiting professor of marketing
Jonah Berger's research focuses on social epidemics, or how products, ideas, and behaviors catch on and become popular. He will teach a course based on his book, Contagious: Why Things Catch On, for the One-year MBA at Cornell NYC Tech and the Cornell Executive MBA in Metro New York. Berger is the James G. Campbell Associate Professor of Marketing at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
George Casey, distinguished senior lecturer of leadership
George Casey, retired four-star general and former chief of staff of the U.S. Army, is an authority on strategic leadership. As the chief of staff of the U.S. Army from 2007 to 2011, he led the one of the world's largest and most complex organizations: 1.1 million people strong, with a $200+ billion annual budget. He improved the leadership training for the Army's General Officer Corps and advanced the transformation of the Army's business and decision-making processes. He will teach a one-credit course on strategic leadership in Johnson's Ithaca-based programs, serve as a guest lecturer, and assist with military recruitment to MBA programs. Casey holds a master's degree in international relations from Denver University and has served as a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council of the United States.
