Imran Khan, MBA '00Imran Khan, MBA '00, is the director of marketing at E-LOAN and oversees a marketing budget of over $50 million and all aspects of integrated online and offline customer acquisition activities including TV, online, sports and direct mail marketing. Khan has been involved with search engine marketing (SEM) since 1999 and is a recognized innovator in the field. Before joining E-LOAN, Khan served as Director Marketing at Cambrian Ventures, a venture capital firm specializing in investing in early stage technology start-ups. Prior to Cambrian, Khan ran the marketing group at Elance, a leading services supply management solutions provider. During his tenure with Elance, Khan's effective SEM strategy resulted in a 400 percent increase in revenues. He has also held positions at Hewlett Packard where he was responsible for structuring partnerships with technology startups. Khan frequently speaks about online marketing, analytics and trends in search engine marketing. In 2005, he won the SEMA award for best in search engine marketing in mortgage industry.

Imran describes himself as a career changer and credits The Johnson School with opening the door to his marketing career. The Johnson School is also where he was initially introduced to data driven marketing. In the coming years, he firmly believes that all media is going to become digital media and that the analytical approach and methodologies online marketers are developing these days will eventually be applicable to offline media. In this respect, the future of data driven marketing appears very promising to him. Imran enthusiastically remarks, "My job offers me a tremendous opportunity to continuously learn as well as unlimited freedom to test new ideas across multiple media. Every day is a brand new adventure for me as we try to maintain and grow our competitive advantage."

David M. Bowen, MBA '77David M. Bowen, MBA '77, was named assistant administrator for Information Services and chief information officer (CIO) of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on January 9, 2006. Bowen joins the FAA from Blue Shield of California where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. As CIO, Bowen joins the senior management team as the FAA's principal advisor on information technology (IT) and will direct the agency's overall strategic IT planning and $2 billion budget to support critical administrative, business, and operational needs.

At Blue Shield of California, Bowen operated the company's IT department at more than 3 percent below budget, while improving the department's customer satisfaction scores. He also implemented enhancements to Blue Shield's information architecture which reduced operating expenses by over $1.5 million annually.

Previously, Bowen was senior vice president of Information Systems and CIO at Baptist Health Systems, Inc., Birmingham, Alabama, and director of Management Information Systems at Carilion Health Systems, Roanoke, Virginia. He has more than 25 years of flying experience and holds an FAA commercial pilot license.

Eric Beringause, MBA '82Eric Beringause, MBA '82, joined Alcoa in January 2006 as president, Alcoa Consumer Products. He has extensive marketing and business development experience with several well-known global consumer products companies. Before coming to Alcoa he worked for four years at Novartis, a world leader in pharmaceuticals and consumer health, as senior vice president, Global Head-International Strategy for Gerber Infant and Baby Products, a part of Novartis' consumer health division. In this position, he had global accountability for Gerber's Nutrition businesses operating in 93 countries. His prior experience includes serving as executive vice president for Edgewood Consulting Group, Inc., a leading consumer products consulting organization based in Morris Plains, NJ, and serving in senior executive marketing and business development positions for ConAgra Food, Inc's. Grist Mill Store Brand Division, and for the Pillsbury Company Green Giant Division. Earlier, he held product management positions for Nabisco Brands and Nestle, Inc.
